Emailing While Drunk - Good Idea or Perhaps GREAT Idea??
Posted by Greig under: Humour .
When emailing an important potential client/sponsor/benefactor it is important to be loose and relaxed. I realized this when writing to an old friend to request his support in future… endeavors. Remember, when requesting suppor it is important to:
- Extend compliments
- Reference to a body of work you are working on to impress the target.
- Inform them on your accomplishments
- Assume they want to help you (who wouldn’t? Be confident.)
Please refer to the following email for reference when in a similar situation:
=================================================
Yo Rob,
What’s going on the town later-to-be-named Rob-Town. That is, I assume, if everything goes according to your plan. Me, I’m just learning English to Korea country. They smart in some ways but waayy dumb when speak English.
So more about me…. well, nothing much is new. Plans for world domination are still more problematic when sober. This leads to a perpetual, beneficial, utopian drunken state that I highly recommend in my forthcoming book entitled: “Alchohol, the Nectar of the Sods?”
As you may have been able to tell, I have little time and mounds of potential academic accomplishments to set my overly burdened mind to achieving. Understandably, you want in on my “devisings” (as a recent observational ‘psychiatric’ report has published in a highly peer-criticized journal). That is why I must write to you, alerting you of future need for financial support in raising funds for an important project.
Well, enough about me. In what way have your actions been indirectly affecting me? Tell me, what of your birthday? It must be hard not to think, “Man I am soo old and have accomplished so little for Greig.” Well, I say don’t worry! Your time is coming soon, and I am headed to Beijing, one of the fastest growing cities in the world, to develop my interests and would be glad to let you know how you can help.
Anyway, that took almost all of my available kilojoules of typing energy allocated for the evening. I must go pass out because this cheap Korean beer mixed with cheap Korean alchohol tends to make One drousy.
light-exudingly yours,
Greig
